BRATTAIN, Larry Joe

Source: Greencastle Daily Banner 9 April 1945 p3

Larry Joe, baby son of Floyd and Ruby Brattain was born May 28, 1943 and passed away after a short illness March 12, 1945 at the Riley Hospital at the age of 1 year 9 months and 12 days. Baby Joe was dearly loved by all who knew him, relatives and friends alike and although all was done to aid him we cannot understand his going, “But God is in the heaves he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.”  His sweet features and darling ways will be sadly missed but loving remember by his mother and daddy, three brothers, Freddie 8, Jimmie 6 and Ronnie 4.  His grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Garrett, great grandparents Mr. and Mrs. William Cope (grands?) and a host of relatives and friends. We feel that God needed just one more little bud in his eternal garden and has chosen our baby to bloom in a land where all is beauty and sunshine. The household pet has gone to rest, God called him home – he knoweth best. He thought it best to take him now, While innocence stamped his fair young brow.  Think not of the grave but look up higher, Hear the sweet strains of the Heavenly choir – See our angelband – how they gently bear. A white robed form up the golden stair. He takes in his arms this beautiful child and gazes into his eyes so mild. He places a crown on his fair sweet brow. Darling baby is an angel now. The loved ones hearts should fill with joy. At the blessed thought that their beautiful boy, Is with God and the angels in heaven above. That land of purity, peace and love. - kbz
